GOODBYE 2024 and hellooooooo 2025!

Wowzers. It’s felt super weird taking time off, but I really needed the break! My hands hurt from painting cats, but I’m back at it! The studio is clean, my sketchbook is full of ideas and this valentines day drop is going to be SO MUCH FUN.

I got to the point recently where I was kind of just … despairing over the social media situation. I absolutely hate the apps. I think they suck the life out of me. Remembering to post every day creates this existential dread. I’ve watched account after account lament their lack of presence despite previous popularity and visibility. Quite frankly, I don’t really care any more. But also, I do care because I need people to see my work, so welcome to my emotional roller coaster! Any tips or suggestions welcomed (honestly, please).

** BIG NEW YEAR ANNOUNCEMENT **

I’ve been wanting to throw for a while now. I lost access to my sisters wheel when we moved across the country and haven’t been able to find a space that worked with my hectic schedule and little gremlin, studio wrecking machine twins. Hubs and I decided it would be best to invest in the business and get a wheel for the shop. I’m so stoked! I’m excited to be offering stoneware mugs come this February - exact dates to be announced once I’m all set up and ready. Plan on or around valentines day <3

I’ve always been a bit mug-obsessed… I’ve just never really gotten around to building a nice selection of handmade mugs. Recently, I dipped my toes into the mug-collection waters and splurged on a few handmade mugs from my new favorite local potters. I highly recommend checking out their work! Talented and individually amazing humans. I ‘met’ Kristen on instagram and immediately fell in love with her colorful, illustrative work. She introduced me to Deb who introduced me to Pat! It’s a pretty amazing little community of potters out here. I’ve linked each of their instagram profiles by clicking on their names below each image <3

Other general announcements….

I’ve made the difficult decision to end any new consignment relationships (for now) - to really focus on my current consigners. I’m creating a monthly shipment schedule to make sure that everyone is stocked. I realized through Christmas how stretched I was with wholesale that I really neglected my OG retailers (::Cough Cough:: Craftland-ilysm)

I’m super stoked to potential join (barring any major life changes) a few of the bigger wholesale shows this year. I’ve gotten a few yes’s, just weighing the pros and cons of cost/benefit. Also, any insight here is appreciated - feel free to message me!

You can also expect monthly drops of new product and some crazy new ideas being brought to life. I have a few night lights (massive cats), wall hangings and even hanging cat puke waiting in the kiln!

Please consider joining my list below for a first glimpse of the drops before they go live. Likely one every 2 months at this point depending upon wholesale volume.

Also really excited to let potential retailers know that in addition to shopping my work on Faire, you can now also find me on Bulletin along with so many other talented makers and shakers from the amazing New York Now community. I was so excited to find them and be welcomed onto the platform.

Additionally, I’ve transitioned all of my one of a kind work over to Etsy until I can figure out SEO. The only stoppable page on my website currently is the wholesale platform I am currently putting together for current retailers. New retailers can apply through the brief form before placing their orders. The website based wholesale page will allow more of the money from every sale to go directly to me to avoid the fees associated with my beloved third party wholesale platforms.

I completed my first instagram ‘giveaway’ and am so stoked to ship out this gigantic platter to the winner! I’ve been working on these larger 18-24 inch statement platters for some exciting interior design projects (if you know any maximalist oriented interior designers or decorators, send ‘em my way - I lOVE these kinds of commissions!).

This 18” beauty was one of the first I tested out some new color combinations on. I’m so excited to see her going somewhere that she will be displayed and loved.

It was really awesome to see people engaging with the work and sharing with their friends. I am really blown away by the love and support I’ve received from you all this year (AND ALWAYS).

It was really great to take a little break and enjoy my littles (and clean my house). I’m gearing up for Faire marketplace (January 22nd) and offering some pretty great discounts. If you’re considering adding By Bianca Rae to your shop, Faire market is the time to do it!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your support. Every purchase, comment, like, share and kind word means more than you will ever know! Onward and upward into 2025 - yesss youuuu cannnnn!
